Baburao Shelar was a corporator for 17 years in working class Sewree in Mumbai from 1968 to 1985. But all his life he lived in Bhikumali Chawl zopadpatti, took up ordinary people’s issues.
Today an average corporator quickly amasses property. Shelar belonged to the Communist party of India and his contribution was recalled yesterday by Prakash Reddy of CPI,Sachin Padwal, present local corporator of the Shiv Sena, when a road was named after Shelar.
